Chapter 9 - The Basement Awaits

"Freeze all her accounts," Damian commanded, his voice echoing with lethal finality. "Seize this estate. Burn her offshore portfolios to the ground. By midnight, I want her stripped of every single penny she stole from my wife's grave."

Eleanor let out a guttural, agonizing scream of pure despair. Her entire empire, her wealth, her status in high society—all of it was being erased with a single sentence.

"And when she has absolutely nothing left," Damian added, his eyes narrowing with a dark, demonic promise, "take her to the exact same basement she kept my daughter in. Weld the steel door shut. Let her see how it feels to starve in the dark."

"No! Please! Have mercy!" Eleanor shrieked, kicking and thrashing wildly as two massive syndicate enforcers grabbed her by the arms.

They violently ripped the heavy diamond earrings from her ears, tossing the stolen jewelry onto the marble counter. The guards dragged the screaming, sobbing matriarch backward across the manicured lawn. Her burgundy silk gown tore against the grass as she was hauled away from the beautiful party, her pathetic cries fading into the heavy darkness of the night, never to be seen in high society again.

The threat was entirely neutralized.
