Chapter 10 - The True Owner

The horrific screams of the arrested couple faded down the hallway, leaving the luxury ballroom in a state of profound awe.
The elite Wall Street crowd slowly turned their attention back to the woman in the short one-shoulder black dress. No one looked at her with disdain anymore. They looked at her with sheer, terrifying respect. She had systematically dismantled a billionaire empire without ever raising her voice.
Arthur Sterling smiled, reaching out and gently handing Victoria a fresh crystal glass of champagne.
"The board of directors has already been briefed," Arthur said warmly. "The patents revert to you immediately. The company is yours again, Victoria. Whenever you are ready to negotiate the sale, my door is always open."
Victoria took the champagne glass. Her dark eyes sparkled under the light of the crystal chandeliers.
She looked around the grand gala, taking in the magnificent floral arrangements, the marble floors, and the undeniable fact that her tormentors were locked in the back of a police cruiser. She had endured three years of hell, plotting in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. And it was absolutely worth it.
