Chapter 4 - The Cover-Up

The cinematic tension in the dining room was absolutely suffocating.

"Shut your mouth!" Admiral Harrison hissed, his distinguished face turning a violent shade of purple. He looked frantically at the stunned guests. "This woman is deeply disturbed! She is experiencing stolen valor delusions! Chad, escort this civilian out of the building immediately!"

Chad, eager to regain the Admiral's favor, stepped out of his chair and reached his hand aggressively toward Samantha’s bare shoulder.

"Get up," Chad commanded.

Before Chad’s fingers could even brush the fabric of her royal-blue dress, Mark stood up. The handsome businessman grabbed Chad’s wrist with a bone-crushing grip, twisting it just enough to make the arrogant officer gasp in pain.

"If you touch her, I will break your arm," Mark warned, his voice low, protective, and dripping with absolute dominance. Mark violently shoved Chad backward, sending the Navy officer stumbling into the wall.

"Mark, what are you doing?!" Chad shrieked, clutching his wrist. "She’s lying! The Admiral said she's an imposter!"

Samantha didn't panic. She remained seated, embodying the exceptional discipline of an elite Navy Commander.

"I didn't come here tonight to enjoy the salmon, Admiral," Samantha stated calmly, picking up her small silver evening clutch from the table. "I spent the last two years tracking the encrypted bank accounts you used to fund that illegal operation. The accounts you filled with millions of dollars in cartel bribes."

Admiral Harrison physically staggered backward. His eyes darted toward the heavy mahogany doors of the dining room, realizing he was entirely trapped.

👉 Samantha opened her silver clutch, preparing to pull out the one piece of evidence that would completely destroy the Admiral's life.
