Chapter 7 - The Billionaire's Secret

Mark casually brushed a shard of broken glass off the sleeve of his expensive tuxedo.

"You really should run better background checks on the people hosting your dinners, Admiral," Mark said smoothly, his strong jaw set with lethal confidence.

"Who... who the hell are you?!" Admiral Harrison stammered, backing away from the tactical operatives currently securing his men.

"I am the CEO of Vanguard Aerospace," Mark replied coldly. "My company holds the primary cybersecurity contracts for the entire Department of Defense. Which means, when my beautiful fiancée came to me with a heavily encrypted, damaged flight recorder from a crashed jet, my team was the one who restored the audio."

Chad whimpered, pressing his back against the wall, utterly terrified by the apocalyptic power dynamic shifting in the room. He had just mocked the fiancée of a defense billionaire.

"You can't do this!" Harrison shrieked hysterically, completely losing his mind. "I am a decorated hero! I am a Vice Admiral of the United States Navy! You have no authority to hold me here!"

"I'm not holding you here, William," Samantha finally spoke, standing up from her chair. Her royal-blue dress flowed elegantly as she walked around the table, radiating the undeniable, terrifying authority of a military commander.

"I'm just keeping you occupied," Samantha whispered.

Suddenly, the deafening, overlapping wails of multiple sirens began to echo from the street outside the mansion. Red and blue lights violently flashed through the shattered windows, illuminating the Admiral's pale, horrified face.

👉 The authorities had arrived, but the people walking through the front door were far worse than local police.
