Chapter 4 - The Diamond Setup

"I'm not leaving Matteo," Hannah stated firmly, forcefully yanking her arm out of Eleanor's vicious, bruising grip. "He needs me. And you are terrifying him."

Eleanor let out a cruel, mocking laugh that echoed coldly down the dark hallway. She adjusted her heavy diamond necklace, her eyes burning with pure, toxic malevolence. She stepped closer to the young nanny, entirely unfazed by Hannah's bravery.

"You have absolutely no idea who you are dealing with, you stupid little girl," Eleanor sneered, her voice dripping with venom. "You think Lucas will protect you? In our world, power is everything. And you have nothing."

Eleanor turned and confidently strutted back into the grand living room, leaving Hannah trembling in the hallway.

Hannah took a deep, shaky breath, smoothing out the white collar of her green dress. She needed to find Matteo and keep him safe from these monsters. She walked toward the master cloakroom to grab Matteo’s favorite stuffed animal from her coat pocket.

But as the evening progressed, the elegant, high-society atmosphere of the penthouse was violently shattered.

The soft, ambient music of the grand piano abruptly stopped. Victoria, the arrogant heiress, let out a high-pitched, horrific, and entirely theatrical scream that paralyzed the entire room.

"It's gone!" Victoria shrieked wildly, clutching her bare chest in absolute, manufactured panic. "My five-million-dollar diamond engagement ring! I took it off to wash my hands in the powder room, and now it's completely gone! Someone in this penthouse is a thief!"

Lucas immediately signaled his massive, heavily armed private security guards. The heavy, reinforced mahogany doors of the penthouse automatically locked, completely sealing the elite guests inside. No one could enter, and no one could leave.

👉 Eleanor pointed a manicured finger directly at Hannah, ready to execute her flawless, multi-million-dollar frame-up.
