Chapter 9 - The Mafia Execution
"Lucas, it's a deepfake!" Eleanor wailed hysterically, completely abandoning her elegant, high-society persona as she dropped to her knees on the marble floor. "The nanny edited the audio! She is trying to destroy our family!"
Lucas didn't yell. The agonizing grief of his first wife's murder instantly vaporized, violently replaced by a cold, absolute, and entirely demonic fury. He didn't look at his step-sister. He looked at his massive, heavily armed private enforcers standing by the locked doors.
"Take their phones," Lucas commanded, his voice a freezing, lethal frequency that promised nothing but blood.
The security guards moved with blinding, effortless violence. They aggressively snatched the cell phones from Eleanor and Victoria, completely cutting them off from the outside world.
"You can't do this to me!" Victoria shrieked wildly, clawing at her expensive designer gown as two massive guards violently grabbed her arms and hauled her forcefully to her feet. "I am an heiress! My father will destroy you!"
"Your father works for me," Lucas whispered coldly, stepping so close to Victoria that she shrank back in pure terror. "And by tomorrow morning, your entire family will be completely bankrupt."
He turned his dead, empty eyes to Eleanor, who was sobbing uncontrollably on the floor.
"You killed the mother of my child," Lucas stated clinically, entirely devoid of human mercy. "And you tried to destroy the only woman who managed to save him. There is no mercy for monsters."
"Please, Lucas! Have mercy!" Eleanor begged, crawling toward his polished shoes.
"Take them to the basement," Lucas commanded his enforcers.
