Chapter 1 - The Unwelcome Guest

The bright, modern beach house was a masterpiece of expensive coastal luxury. Massive floor-to-ceiling windows framed a stunning, cinematic view of the rolling ocean waves, bathing the crisp white kitchen cabinets and gleaming white marble countertops in warm, natural sunlight. It was a space specifically designed for relaxation and wealth, but the atmosphere inside was currently suffocating with pure, unadulterated hostility.
Claire, a woman in her early thirties with long blonde hair, stood aggressively in the center of the kitchen. She wore a silky white button-down blouse that fluttered as she leaned forward, her face twisted into an ugly mask of sheer entitlement and rage.
"There's no room for her!" Claire shouted, her voice echoing shrilly off the marble surfaces. She pointed a manicured, trembling finger directly at the older woman standing near the kitchen island.
The older woman, Eleanor, was in her late sixties. She had short, elegant grey hair and wore a modest light beige blouse, a dark navy skirt, and classic pearl earrings. In her frail hands, she nervously clutched a worn brown leather tote bag. She looked deeply confused and visibly hurt, entirely unprepared for the violent reception she was receiving after driving six hours down the coast.
