Chapter 3 - The Cruel Stepmother

The heavy, toxic silence in the magnificent Manhattan restaurant was absolutely deafening.
Dante rose to his full, towering height, entirely dominating the massive room without even raising his voice. He stared directly into Olivia’s expressive eyes with a serious, deeply suspicious, and highly calculating expression. Orion remained firmly, fiercely seated right beside Olivia’s leg, refusing to return to the mafia boss.
"Who are you?" Dante asked coldly. "He's never done this before."
Before Olivia could even open her mouth to answer the powerful titan, a vicious, high-pitched shriek echoed across the polished marble floor.
"Olivia! Get away from Mr. Moretti's table right now!"
Storming aggressively across the dining room was Vivian. The fifty-something restaurant manager wore a heavily tailored, wildly expensive red designer dress and a thick diamond necklace. She was Olivia’s cruel, toxic stepmother.
Vivian marched up to the table and aggressively slapped the silver serving tray right out of Olivia’s hands. The elegant gourmet plate crashed violently onto the marble floor, shattering into a million pieces.
"I am so incredibly sorry, Mr. Moretti," Vivian panicked loudly, completely abandoning her arrogant persona to grovel before the mafia boss. "This worthless, clumsy girl is completely incompetent! I told her never to approach the VIP section!"
Vivian aggressively grabbed Olivia by the arm, her long nails digging painfully into the young woman's skin.
To understand the absolute, unhinged cruelty of the stepmother, one had to look at the restaurant's true history. This multi-million-dollar establishment legally belonged to Olivia’s late father. But when he died a year ago, Vivian had maliciously hidden the original will, stolen the entire inheritance, and intentionally forced Olivia to work in a humiliating pink corset uniform just to mentally torture her.

"I'm firing her right now," Vivian sneered coldly. "Security, drag her out to the alley!"
👉 Vivian smugly prepared to throw her stepdaughter onto the street, completely failing to notice the deadly beast actively preparing to strike.
