Chapter 8 - The Syndicate's Wrath

"No! That's a lie!" Vivian wailed pathetically, completely abandoning her high-society persona. She looked like a feral, cornered animal. "I never touched your money, Mr. Moretti! The accountant did it! I was framed!"

"The digital wire transfers have your exact biometric authorization codes attached to them, Vivian," Dante whispered coldly, stepping slowly toward the trembling woman.

The wealthy, elegantly dressed guests at the surrounding tables shrank down in their gold-trimmed chairs, absolutely terrified to make eye contact with the ruthless apex predator.

"You didn't just murder an innocent man and steal his daughter's inheritance," Dante commanded flawlessly, completely dominating the room. "You actively, maliciously embezzled three million dollars from my personal syndicate. You used my own money to buy the dog you sold back to me as a tribute."

Vivian aggressively crawled forward on the white-and-gray marble floor, desperately trying to grab the hem of Dante's black trousers.

"I'll pay it all back!" Vivian shrieked hysterically, tears pouring down her face. "I'll give you the restaurant! I'll give you everything! Just let me walk away! Please, I'll leave the country today!"

Dante forcefully stepped back, looking at her with pure, unfiltered disgust.

"The restaurant isn't yours to give," Dante stated clinically. He looked over at Olivia, who was standing tall and completely unafraid in her pink satin dress. "It belongs to the true owner."
