Chapter 7 - The Unbreakable Bond

Rosa ran into the room, her frilly yellow dress practically floating as she sprinted toward her mother. The oversized black suit jacket Cassian had given her trailed behind her on the floor.
"Rosa!" Elena cried, dropping to her knees on the concrete.
She caught her daughter in a fierce, desperate, unbreakable embrace. She buried her face in Rosa's long wavy brown hair, weeping with a profound, agonizing relief that only a mother could understand.
"I kept him quiet, Mommy," Rosa said innocently, wiping a tear from her mother's bruised cheek. "I showed him the secret door."
Cassian stood above them, watching the beautiful reunion. The ruthless, terrifying mafia boss completely melted away. He felt a sharp, painful ache in his chest—a sudden, overwhelming realization of what truly mattered in this violent, chaotic world. He had spent his entire life building an empire of fear, and yet, the bravest person he had ever met was a three-year-old girl in a yellow bow.
Suddenly, the heavy steel door of the cellar burst open.
Ten heavily armed, fiercely loyal syndicate guards flooded into the room. They weren't Vincent's assassins. They were Cassian’s true inner circle, men who had just finished slaughtering the coup members in the hallways above.
"Boss!" the lead guard shouted, lowering his weapon when he saw Cassian was alive. "The estate is secure. The assassins are dead."
The guard looked down at Vincent, who was still groaning and bleeding on the concrete floor.
"What do we do with him?" the guard asked.
