Chapter 8 - The Stripping of the Traitor

Vincent looked up, his face pale and slick with a cold sweat. He realized he was surrounded by men who worshipped Cassian, men who would gladly tear him apart piece by piece.
"Cassian, please," Vincent begged, his voice a pathetic, broken wheeze. "We were brothers! We built this syndicate together!"
Cassian walked over to Vincent. He reached down and violently ripped the heavy, solid gold Rolex right off the traitor's bleeding wrist.
"We aren't brothers," Cassian stated smoothly. "And this syndicate belongs to me."
Cassian tossed the bloody gold watch to his lead guard.
"Take him to the warehouse," Cassian ordered, his voice echoing with merciless finality. "Strip his offshore accounts. Transfer every single dollar he stole into a private trust fund. When you are done extracting the names of every rival boss who paid him, drop him in the ocean. Make sure he never resurfaces."
"No! Please!" Vincent shrieked like a feral animal, kicking wildly as the massive guards grabbed him by his ruined arms.
"You wanted to put a child in a box," Cassian whispered into the cold air. "Now you get to sleep in one."
Vincent’s desperate, hysterical cries faded down the stone steps, ending his reign of cruelty and treason forever. He would face the ultimate, brutal justice of the criminal underworld.
The underground cellar fell into a profound, heavy, and incredibly peaceful silence.
