Chapter 4 - The Fake Audit

Arthur didn't confront Victoria about the stolen millions yet. He needed to lock her into a corner she could never, ever escape from.
He called his ruthless corporate accounting team and ordered a complete, silent freeze on all of Victoria’s credit cards and secondary accounts, ensuring she couldn't access a single cent of his actual corporate empire. Then, he called the estate's private security director.
"Lock down the perimeter," Arthur commanded coldly. "No one leaves this property without my explicit permission. Especially my wife."
Two hours later, Arthur walked out of his study and back into the grand, sunlit hallway.
Victoria was descending the grand staircase. She was a stunningly beautiful woman in her early thirties, wearing an expensive silk designer dress and a heavy diamond necklace. She radiated toxic, unearned arrogance, carrying a crystal glass of champagne as if she owned the entire world.
"Arthur, darling!" Victoria smiled brightly, acting completely innocent. "I thought you were at the office today."
"I came home early," Arthur replied smoothly, slipping his hands into the pockets of his dark purple suit. He masked his demonic fury perfectly. "I was just reviewing the household ledgers. It seems there's a massive discrepancy in the staff payroll."
Victoria’s flawless smile faltered for a microscopic second, but she quickly recovered, waving her manicured hand dismissively.
"Oh, don't worry about that," Victoria lied smoothly, her voice dripping with fake, high-society sweetness. "The bank is just running a routine security audit on the operational accounts. I told Rosa she would get her money next week. The help is just so impatient and dramatic."

Arthur stared at her. He listened to the woman he had married effortlessly lie straight to his face while a nine-year-old girl ate plain rice to survive.
👉 Arthur smiled back, ready to drop the financial guillotine directly onto her neck.
