Chapter 7 - The Federal Guillotine

The cinematic realism of the suffocating, paralyzing tension gripped the grand hallway.

Three heavily armed FBI agents in dark tactical suits marched directly onto the pristine marble floors. They didn't look at Arthur. They marched straight toward the weeping, disgraced woman kneeling on the ground.

"Victoria Sterling," the lead federal agent barked loudly, his hand resting firmly on his utility belt. "You are under arrest for massive corporate wire fraud, embezzlement, and conspiracy to commit grand larceny."

Victoria let out a horrific, high-pitched shriek of pure, unfiltered terror.

"No! Arthur, stop them! Do something!" Victoria wailed hysterically, thrashing wildly as a female agent violently grabbed her arms, twisting them painfully behind her back.

The heavy steel handcuffs snapped loudly around her wrists, completely stripping her of her freedom, her pride, and her multi-million-dollar high-society lifestyle. She wasn't an elite billionaire's wife anymore; she was a disgraced felon going straight to a federal penitentiary.

"Take her out the service entrance," Arthur commanded the agents smoothly. "I don't want her ruining the aesthetic of my front lawn."

The agents nodded respectfully. Victoria screamed and cried in absolute, undeniable disgrace as she was forcefully dragged backward out of the mansion, her expensive silk dress dragging across the floor.

The heavy mahogany doors slammed shut, instantly bringing a profound, heavy peace back to the luxurious hallway.

But Arthur wasn't finished. As Victoria's purse spilled onto the marble floor during her arrest, a secondary, cheap burner phone slid across the stone.

👉 Arthur picked up the hidden device, entirely unaware that the betrayal was much darker than simple theft.
