Chapter 9 - The True Apology
The chaotic, toxic energy was completely dragged out of the mansion.
When Arthur walked into the massive, pristine kitchen, Rosa and Camila were sitting quietly at the marble island. Rosa was nervously holding a half-eaten sandwich, terrified that the billionaire was coming to fire her for causing the massive explosion in the hallway.
Arthur didn't look like a terrifying CEO. He looked profoundly apologetic, deeply respectful, and overwhelmingly grateful.
He walked directly up to the kitchen island. He didn't hand Rosa a basic check. He placed a heavy, thick manila envelope directly onto the marble counter.
"Rosa," Arthur said quietly, his deep voice carrying a rare, genuine warmth. "Inside that envelope is your back pay for the last three months, completely fully compensated. Included is a one-hundred-thousand-dollar bonus for the horrific trauma my ex-wife inflicted upon you."
Rosa physically gasped, her hands flying to her mouth in pure, overwhelming shock. Tears of absolute, unadulterated relief flooded her exhausted eyes.
"Mr. Arthur... I... I don't know what to say," Rosa choked out, weeping softly.
"You don't need to say anything," Arthur replied smoothly. "You are the Head of Household now. You command the staff. And no one will ever disrespect you in this house again."
Arthur turned his attention to the brave nine-year-old girl sitting next to her mother.
Camila was still wearing her purple cardigan, finishing a massive slice of chocolate cake. She looked up at the towering billionaire, her fierce, determined expression completely softened.
Arthur smiled a genuine, bright smile.

"And as for you," Arthur said gently, looking directly into Camila's eyes. "You are the bravest person I have ever met. You saved my life today. I am setting up a full, unconditional trust fund for your college education. You can go to any school you want, anywhere in the world. It is entirely paid for."
👉 Camila smiled brilliantly, realizing her bravery had just secured her entire family's future.
