Chapter 1 - The Empty Ballroom

The grand wedding ballroom was a massive, cinematic display of devastating emptiness. The warm evening lighting cast a heavy, melancholy glow over the untouched, five-tier wedding cake and the dozens of abandoned guest tables. Through the massive glass windows, the glittering city skyline mocked the silence inside the room.

Theodore, a devastatingly handsome thirty-something man wearing a sharp black tuxedo with an untied bowtie hanging loosely around his neck, stood entirely alone in the center of the massive dance floor.

He was a highly successful corporate CEO, a man who had built a massive financial empire. But tonight, he was just a groom who had been brutally, publicly abandoned at the altar by his high-society fiancée exactly three hours ago.

He hadn't cried. He hadn't yelled. He had just cleared the room, completely broken.

Suddenly, a soft rustle of fabric broke the heavy silence.

June, a twenty-something woman with a beautiful brunette updo, stepped out from the shadows near the grand piano. She was the hired musician, wearing a sparkling pale evening gown. She hadn't packed up her sheet music. She had stayed behind, quietly watching the towering titan fall apart in the dark.

Theodore didn't look angry. He looked up at her with profound, agonizing vulnerability. He slowly held out his hand.

"I was supposed to dance tonight," Theodore whispered, his deep voice cracking with raw emotion.

👉 June stepped onto the empty dance floor, completely unaware that she was about to rewrite his entire destiny.
