Chapter 5 - The Corporate Assassination

The cinematic realism of the absolute, crushing betrayal completely electrified the empty ballroom.
Theodore ripped the manila envelope open. He expected to find a love letter to another man, or maybe a secret medical diagnosis explaining why Cassandra had fled.
Instead, he pulled out a stack of highly confidential, legally notarized corporate bank transfer documents.
Theodore’s jaw literally unhinged as he read the bold, undeniable text. Cassandra hadn't run away because she got cold feet. She had run away because she had successfully executed a massive, multi-million-dollar corporate assassination against his company.
For the last six months, Cassandra had used her status as his fiancée to secretly access his private executive servers. She had meticulously, systematically transferred exactly forty million dollars from his company’s liquid offshore accounts directly into a hidden shell corporation owned entirely by her father.
She didn't leave him at the altar because a corporate merger failed. She left him because she had already stolen the money, intentionally planning the public humiliation at the wedding to permanently destroy his reputation and ensure his company's stock crashed the next morning.
