Chapter 8 - The Public Arrest

"You can't do this to me!" Cassandra shrieked wildly, violently thrashing her arms as two massive federal agents grabbed her and forcefully hauled her down the private jet steps. "My father is a billionaire! We didn't steal anything!"

"Your father's shell accounts were frozen ten minutes ago," a cold, familiar voice echoed across the tarmac.

Theodore stepped out of a sleek black SUV. He didn't look like a broken groom anymore. He had taken off his bowtie and unbuttoned his tuxedo jacket, radiating the crushing, undeniable, and absolute authority of a true corporate king.

He stopped directly in front of the weeping, disgraced woman who had tried to destroy him.

"How did you find out?!" Cassandra wailed hysterically, her expensive designer clothes wrinkling as the heavy steel handcuffs snapped loudly around her wrists, completely stripping her of her fake wealth.

"You were so focused on destroying the groom," Theodore whispered coldly, looking down at her with pure, unfiltered disgust, "that you forgot to pay attention to the musician playing the piano."

Cassandra let out an apocalyptic scream of pure, unadulterated terror as she realized a minimum-wage piano player had completely unraveled her massive, multi-million-dollar assassination plot.

👉 Theodore turned his back on the screaming traitor, completely focused on the woman who had saved his life.
