Chapter 1 - The Cold Stare

The grand, well-lit indoor wedding venue was a breathtaking display of high-society extravagance. Massive crystal chandeliers cast a brilliant, sparkling light over polished white marble floors and towering white columns, while hundreds of elite guests in formal evening wear mingled softly in the background. Every single detail of the multi-million-dollar wedding was designed to look like a fairy tale.

But standing near the center of the grand hall, the atmosphere was thick with a terrifying, suffocating ice.

A little boy named Lucas stood holding hands tightly with his grandmother, Eleanor. Lucas was seven years old, wearing a sharp, custom-tailored navy blue suit with a light blue tie. He looked remarkably mature for his age, possessing short brown hair and a gaze that was entirely devoid of childlike joy.

Lucas slowly turned his head, looking back over his shoulder at the Bride, who stood slightly behind them. His expression was intensely serious, carrying a heavy, chilling weight that felt entirely unnatural for a child.

Standing beside Lucas, Eleanor—a sixty-year-old woman with short grey hair, wearing an elegant slate blue dress accented by a sparkling silver brooch—looked completely, utterly shocked. Her eyes were wide, dilated with a profound, terrifying horror as she stared down at her grandson, realizing the devastating, high-stakes game he was playing.
