Chapter 7 - The Live Broadcast

Medium shot: The trio held their poses for the camera.
Eleanor was visibly crying, the tears catching the studio light as she forced a heartbreaking, agonizing smile. The Bride smiled brightly, her white lace dress catching the flash, looking like the picture of angelic perfection. And Lucas gave a subtle, incredibly eerie, and completely forced smile.
"See. Seven," the Cameraman instructed calmly, preparing to press the shutter button to capture the final frame of the wedding portrait.
The Bride leaned in slightly, whispering out of the corner of her mouth to the little boy, testing his compliance. "Smile harder, little man. We're a happy family now."
Lucas didn't smile harder. Instead, his small thumb—hidden completely from the Cameraman's view behind the fabric of his navy blue suit jacket—firmly pressed a small, customized Bluetooth sync button on the disguised audio recorder hidden in his pocket.
He wasn't just recording audio anymore.
The high-end tablet clamped to the tripod wasn't just a local playback monitor. Lucas had spent the entire morning using the venue's secure Wi-Fi network to patch the tablet's live-feed streaming software directly into the local police precinct's digital emergency server, while simultaneously broadcasting the master audio file to the massive Bluetooth sound system speakers currently echoing across the wedding reception grand hall.

The confession the Bride had whispered in the doorway— "I did every way to my sister. I poisoned her, I buried her..." —began playing on an endless, crystal-clear loop through the ballroom speakers, filling the multi-million-dollar wedding venue with the unmistakable sound of a murderer proudly bragging about her crimes.
