Chapter 7 - The Son's Attention

Medium close-up: Sitting near the absolute center of the long dining table was the Son.
Luca was a highly intimidating, extremely handsome man in his thirties, possessing long, wavy dark hair and a neatly trimmed, sharp beard. He wore a crisp black shirt under a tailored black suit jacket. Intricate, dark neck tattoos were clearly visible above his collar, a physical testament to his incredibly violent, ruthless role as the active, undisputed boss of the family syndicate.
Luca didn't laugh. He didn't look at his elegant wife.
He leaned heavily forward over the white tablecloth, entirely ignoring his crystal glass of wine. His intense, dark, and deeply serious eyes locked entirely onto the young maid in the uniform. He loved his mother more than anything in the entire world, and the absolute sheer possibility that she had communicated was enough to completely override his wife's frantic, arrogant commands.
He had spent a year grieving a woman who was still breathing, and the desperate hope in his chest was a terrifying, volatile thing.
"What did my mother say?" Luca asked, his voice low, intense, and vibrating with a highly dangerous, desperate edge that commanded the absolute attention of every single soul in the room.
Valeria’s face completely drained of color. A sudden, sickening jolt of pure panic hit her stomach as she realized her husband was actually listening to the lowly servant.
"Luca, darling, please don't engage with her, she's clearly lying—" Valeria stammered frantically, completely abandoning her elegant poise as she desperately reached out to grab her husband's arm across the table.

Luca violently slapped his wife's hand away, completely ignoring her. He stood up from his chair, his tall, powerful frame casting a dark shadow over the expensive dining setup. He kept his intense gaze locked entirely on the frail woman sitting motionless in the wheelchair.
