Chapter 5 - The Hidden Value

Sarah stared at the glowing screen of her smartphone. Her thumb hovered over the keypad.

Brenda was an arrogant, entitled fool. When she smashed that ceramic unicorn, she was only looking for rolled-up twenty-dollar bills and quarters to fund her shopping addiction. She had frantically scooped up whatever cash fell onto the carpet, shoved it into her purse, and left the room.

But she had scooped up something else in her greedy, blind rush.

Ava's late biological father, who had passed away when Ava was just a baby, had been an avid numismatist—a collector of extremely rare currencies. Before he died, he wanted to leave something incredibly special for his daughter's future college fund, something that would appreciate in value.

He didn't leave her cash. He left her a single, flawless, uncirculated 19th-century rare gold coin, sealed in a tiny protective velvet pouch.

Sarah had hidden the pouch inside the unicorn piggy bank for safekeeping, completely out of sight from any potential burglars.

That single coin had been officially appraised just three months ago. It was currently valued at exactly $18,500.

When Brenda aggressively scooped up the "spare change" from the carpet, she had unknowingly grabbed the velvet pouch and shoved it into her designer handbag. She hadn't just committed petty theft against an eight-year-old girl. She had crossed the legal threshold into massive, undeniable felony theft.

👉 Sarah opened a specific app on her phone, and the high-definition proof she found was about to sign Brenda’s arrest warrant.
