Chapter 6 - The 911 Call

Sarah’s fingers moved with rapid, flawless precision across her smartphone screen. She opened the encrypted security application linked to her home’s Wi-Fi network.
Because of Sarah’s demanding job, she had installed a high-definition, motion-activated nanny camera on the top shelf of Ava’s white bookcase to monitor the babysitters. It was perfectly angled to capture the entire room, completely invisible behind a row of stuffed animals.
Sarah pressed play.
The crystal-clear, 4K video buffered for a split second before showing exactly what happened twenty minutes ago. The footage clearly showed Brenda sneaking into the room, aggressively grabbing the heavy ceramic unicorn, and violently smashing it against the floor. The video zoomed in perfectly, capturing the exact moment Brenda snatched the distinct black velvet pouch containing the $18,500 gold coin and shoved it into her pocket before grabbing her gift bags.
It was a cinematic, undeniable, air-tight confession on tape.
Sarah didn't hesitate. She didn't call her husband. She didn't call the in-laws to negotiate.
She dialed three numbers.
The line clicked open immediately. "911, what is your emergency?"

"Officer?" Sarah said. Her voice was ice-cold, completely calm, and laced with absolute, terrifying authority. "I need to report a grand larceny and burglary in progress at my residence. The suspect is currently still inside the house, in possession of stolen property valued at over eighteen thousand dollars."
👉 Sarah hung up the phone and walked downstairs, preparing to serve her sister-in-law the ultimate, devastating revenge.
