Chapter 4 - The Public Firing

Vance stared at Harlan in absolute, paralyzing disbelief. The sheer audacity of the demand completely shattered his arrogant corporate facade.

"Apologize?!" Vance shrieked, completely losing his mind and dropping his quiet tone. "I am the general manager of this estate! I don't apologize to anyone! You are a nobody! You wash the dishes!"

Vance violently ripped the black bowtie right off Harlan’s neck, tossing it disrespectfully onto the marble floor.

"You are officially fired!" Vance roared loudly, ensuring every single elite guest heard him clearly. "Get your filthy hands off my dance floor, pack your trash in the locker room, and get off my property before I have security throw you into the street!"

Audrey wept softly in her wheelchair, burying her face in her hands.

"I'm so sorry," Audrey sobbed, looking up at Harlan. "I didn't mean to ruin your life. Please just go."

Harlan didn't move. He didn't look at his bowtie on the floor. He didn't look at the massive security guards slowly approaching the dance floor.

He reached into the front pocket of his black vest.

"I'm not leaving, Audrey," Harlan said smoothly, pulling a sleek, heavy, jet-black card from his pocket. "And I don't wash the dishes."
