Chapter 6 - Unmasking the Ghost

Damian Voss was a man who feared absolutely nothing. He had survived assassination attempts, cartel wars, and federal indictments. But as he stared into the cold, piercing hazel eyes of the woman standing in front of him, a drop of cold sweat traced its way down his spine.
He didn't see Evelyn, the quiet, submissive maid who had supposedly been scrubbing his floors for the past year.
He saw Her.
Through his vast underground network, Damian had heard the whispered legends of a phantom federal operative. A woman the syndicates called "The Ghost." An undercover agent so deeply embedded, so ruthlessly efficient, that she had single-handedly orchestrated the collapse of the Romanov family from the inside out. There was only one blurry, heavily encrypted photograph of her in the entire criminal underworld.
Damian had paid a million dollars for that photo six months ago. He had memorized the jawline, the intense, predatory eyes, the slight scar above her left eyebrow.
And now, that exact same woman was standing in his living room, wearing a cheap maid's uniform.
The pieces fell into place with terrifying speed. She hadn't just been working here. She had been building a federal case against him. She had the blueprints, the bank accounts, the schedules. She held the power to destroy his entire empire with a single phone call. And for three months, she had vanished, likely delivering all of his secrets to the FBI.
Damian’s chest tightened. He took a hesitant, almost cautious step forward, his expression shifting from cold authority to absolute, suffocating dread.

"Evelyn..." Damian whispered, his voice incredibly tense, completely devoid of his usual arrogance. "Wait."
👉 Damian knew he was standing inches away from a lethal trap, but his eyes were about to fall on the worst detail of all.
