Chapter 9 - The Fall from Grace

"You can't do this!" Vanessa screamed, her voice breaking as sheer panic finally took hold. "To me? Over a filthy maid?! I am going to be your wife!"

"You are nothing," Damian hissed, stepping closer, forcing Vanessa to stumble backward until her back hit the heavy wooden doors. "You are a liability. And you just touched something you had no right to touch."

Tears of humiliation and rage spilled down Vanessa’s perfectly contoured cheeks. She looked wildly from Damian to Evelyn, her brain frantically trying to understand how the power dynamic had violently flipped in less than sixty seconds.

Evelyn watched the pathetic display with cold, unyielding satisfaction. She didn't say a word. She didn't have to.

"Guards!" Damian barked, his voice finally booming through the massive hallway.

Instantly, two massive men in dark suits stepped out from the shadows of the corridor. They moved with terrifying efficiency, flanking Vanessa on both sides.

"Throw her out," Damian commanded without looking at her. "Take her keys. Take her phone. Ensure she never steps foot on my property again."

"No! Damian, please!" Vanessa sobbed, the arrogant mistress completely broken as the guards grabbed her arms. She kicked and thrashed, her expensive red stilettos slipping wildly on the pristine marble floor. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Don't do this!"

Her pathetic, screaming cries echoed through the grand foyer as the guards violently dragged her backward, shoving her out the massive front doors. The heavy oak slammed shut behind her, cutting off her desperate pleas instantly.
