Chapter 6 - The Federal Guillotine

"Mr. Sterling, please! It's a massive misunderstanding!" David shrieked wildly, completely abandoning his arrogant, aggressive persona. He was hyperventilating, his massive frame trembling with pure, unadulterated terror. "The system must have glitched! I was going to distribute the money tomorrow!"
"You were going to route the money into your personal offshore account," Roman corrected flawlessly, entirely devoid of human mercy. "Just like you did on Christmas last year."
David dropped to his knees on the hardwood floor, completely humiliating himself in front of the young waitress he had just violently threatened.
"I'll give it all back! I swear to God!" David sobbed hysterically, desperately reaching out toward Roman's black suit.
Roman didn't even flinch. He casually raised two fingers in the air.
Before David could even attempt to beg again, the heavy front doors of the restaurant swung open. Four massive, heavily armed corporate security enforcers in tactical suits marched directly into the dining room. They didn't care about the elite guests staring at them. They marched straight up to the weeping, disgraced manager.
"Take his keys. Strip his access," Roman commanded, his voice booming with unquestionable authority. "And hand him over to the federal authorities waiting outside. I want him charged with massive corporate fraud and grand larceny."
David let out an apocalyptic shriek of pure terror. He wasn't just losing his job; he was going straight to a federal penitentiary for a decade.
