Chapter 7 - The Thanksgiving Dinner

The toxic, arrogant energy was completely, permanently dragged out of the dining room.

The elite guests went back to their meals, terrified into absolute silence by the billionaire's ruthless power. Roman took a slow, deep breath, smoothing his black tie. He turned his attention back to the young waitress standing near his table.

Emma was shaking violently, her hands still clutching the white lace apron. She was completely overwhelmed by the fact that the actual owner of the empire had just burned his own manager to the ground to protect her.

"Sit down, Emma," Roman repeated, his dark eyes softening considerably.

This time, Emma didn't argue. She slowly pulled out the heavy leather chair and sat directly across from the billionaire, setting her silver serving plate on the table.

"I am incredibly sorry for the unacceptable trauma you experienced tonight," Roman said quietly, his deep voice carrying a rare, genuine respect. "No one in my company will ever be exploited or threatened again."

"Thank you," Emma choked out, tears of pure, overwhelming relief finally flooding her eyes. "I... I just really need this job. My mom is sick, and the medical bills..."

Roman didn't let her finish. He pulled a thick, heavy black envelope from his suit jacket and slid it smoothly across the pristine white tablecloth.

👉 Emma slowly opened the envelope, completely unprepared for the staggering reality inside.
