Chapter 7 - The Ambush

Dante walked into the boardroom.
He had discarded the wet suit jacket and was now wearing a fresh, tailored charcoal suit that clung to his broad shoulders. His dark hair was slicked back perfectly. His slow eye movement swept the room, freezing every single lawyer in their expensive leather chairs.
Sarah’s greedy smile faltered slightly, but she quickly recovered, standing up with open arms.
"Dante! We weren't expecting you," Sarah cooed, her voice dripping with fake sympathy. "I was just finalizing the paperwork to take the burden off your shoulders. You need to rest, darling."
Dante didn't say a word. He walked slowly around the massive mahogany table, his highly polished shoes clicking ominously against the hardwood floor.
He stopped right next to Sarah’s chair. He looked down at the gold pen in her hand, and then at the legal transfer documents.
"You've been very busy, Sarah," Dante said, his voice deadly quiet, lacking any trace of the broken, grieving widower she thought she had manipulated.
"Someone has to be strong for the family," Sarah replied defensively, sensing a dangerous shift in his cinematic realism.

Dante leaned down, resting his massive hands on the edge of the table. "You're right. Someone has to protect the family. Especially from the monsters inside the house."
👉 Sarah’s blood turned to ice, and the ultimate, horrifying shock was waiting for her just outside the boardroom doors.
