Chapter 9 - The Fall of the Traitor

"Dante, please! It was a misunderstanding!" Sarah shrieked, completely dropping her elegant facade. She fell to her knees on the boardroom floor, her white designer suit instantly ruined as she groveled. "The hospital made a mistake! I tried to find them! I swear!"

Dante looked down at her with absolute, freezing disgust.

"You're going to find out exactly what it feels like to be thrown into the cold with nothing," Dante stated coldly.

He looked at his elite bodyguards. "Strip her of her access cards. Freeze every single one of her bank accounts. Take her cars, her jewelry, and her properties. When you're done, hand all the evidence of her fraud over to the federal prosecutor."

"No! You can't do this! I'm your family!" Sarah wailed, thrashing wildly as the massive guards grabbed her by the arms.

"You are nothing," Dante replied, his voice carrying the finality of an executioner's blade.

The guards violently hauled the screaming, crying woman out of the boardroom. Her pathetic shrieks echoed down the luxurious corporate hallway, growing fainter and fainter until the elevator doors slammed shut, swallowing her into ruin forever.
