The absolute destruction of Evelyn was incredibly swift, brutal, and entirely uncompromising.
Terrified of going to jail, the sobbing, humiliated stepmother scrambled out of the ruined dining room. She frantically packed a single bag and fled the estate, her dreams of ultimate wealth and power permanently, violently erased. Michael's ruthless corporate lawyers ensured that the ironclad prenuptial agreement was enforced to the letter, leaving Evelyn entirely destitute and permanently exiled from the high-society circles she had ruthlessly worshipped.
But inside the ruined dining room, the terrifying, explosive father completely vanished.

Her heavy tears had completely stopped falling. As she watched her towering, powerful father violently defend her honor and completely destroy the monster who had tormented her, a subtle, powerful, and incredibly profound expression of absolute safety and deep emotional relief washed completely over her fair face.
She let out a quiet, trembling breath of pure relief, knowing the nightmare was finally over.
Michael walked slowly around the flipped table and the shattered crystal. He didn't ask her to get up. He didn't tell her to go to her room.
The tall, handsome executive dropped completely down onto the hardwood floor right beside his daughter and the golden retriever. He gently pulled Chloe into a fierce, desperate, and overwhelmingly emotional embrace, burying his face in her braided pigtails.
"I've got you, sweetie," Michael whispered, holding his daughter tighter than he ever had before. "I am so sorry. Nobody is ever going to hurt you again."
