Chapter 10 - The True Heir

The absolute destruction of Mark and Claudia was incredibly swift, brutal, and completely uncompromising.
The elite bodyguards moved instantly, completely devoid of mercy. They aggressively stripped the expensive designer sweater off Mark's bleeding body and tore the glittering diamond jewelry and sharp heels away from Claudia. The two abusers were physically dragged, screaming and begging hysterically for forgiveness, completely out of the warm mountain lodge.
The heavy front doors were thrown open, and Mark and Claudia were violently hurled out into the freezing, sub-zero Colorado snow, completely barefoot and entirely stripped of the unearned wealth they had murdered to obtain. The massive wrought-iron gates slammed shut behind them, permanently locking them out of the empire they had tried to steal, leaving them to face the brutal, unforgiving consequences of the harsh winter wilderness.
Inside the lodge, the terrifying atmosphere completely shifted.
Richard turned his back on the closed doors. He walked over to his most trusted bodyguard, who was still securely holding the small, shivering, three-year-old boy wrapped in the massive wool overcoat.
Richard gently took Noah back into his own strong arms. The towering, deeply intimidating Mafia boss held the tiny, filthy child tightly against his chest, his intense blue-gray eyes softening with profound, unreserved, and deeply protective love.
"You don't ever have to be cold again, Noah," Richard whispered gently, pressing a soft kiss against his grandson's forehead. "Grandpa is never leaving you alone again."
Richard carried the true, undisputed heir to the Bellacorte bloodline away from the ruined party and up the grand staircase toward a warm bath and a safe, comfortable bed.

What would you do if you discovered the people you trusted most were secretly harming a child?
