Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Justice

"You can't do this to me!" Valerie shrieked hysterically, completely abandoning her elegant, grieving facade. She scrambled backward against the velvet headboard. "I did it for us, Arthur! I just wanted to secure the trust fund so we could be happy!"

"You did it because you are a parasitic monster," Arthur corrected softly, entirely immune to her pathetic lies.

The heavy mahogany doors of the bedroom burst open.

Four heavily armed federal agents and Arthur’s personal security chief swarmed into the master suite, their weapons drawn.

"Valerie Sterling," the lead agent announced, reading the horrific evidence on his tablet. "You are under arrest for conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, massive wire fraud, and medical forgery."

"Don't touch me!" Valerie wailed wildly as the officers forcefully hauled her off the bed.

They didn't let her change out of her white silk nightgown. They violently slapped heavy steel handcuffs over her wrists, dragging the screaming, thrashing socialite directly down the grand staircase. Her reputation, her billionaire lifestyle, and her toxic freedom were permanently, entirely destroyed.

As she was shoved into the back of a police cruiser in the rain, Arthur received a message from his tactical team. They had found the crashed car. Mia’s mother was severely injured, but she was alive, and Arthur’s private medical helicopter was already airlifting her to the best trauma center in the state.

Six months later, the nightmare was entirely over.

Valerie was sentenced to thirty years in federal prison without parole. Arthur completely liquidated her family’s assets, leaving them bankrupt.

He didn't just pay the surrogate's medical bills. When she fully recovered, Arthur brought her and Mia into the estate permanently. He legally adopted the fearless seven-year-old girl who had braved a thunderstorm to save his bloodline.

Arthur stood on the grand porch under a bright, sunny sky, holding his gray-eyed son in his arms, watching Mia run happily across the green lawn. He had survived a monster, protected his children, and secured his empire with absolute, flawless justice.

If you were Arthur, would you have confronted Valerie in private, or was letting the FBI drag her out in her nightgown the absolute perfect revenge?
