Chapter 9 - The Banishment

Dante stepped back, letting the gasping, broken traitor slide down the golden pillar onto the marble floor.
"Take the box carefully out to the disposal site and have our experts defuse it," Dante commanded his bomb squad quietly.
He looked back down at the weeping, pathetic man who used to be his best friend.
"And take Marcus out through the kitchen service doors," Dante ordered coldly, completely devoid of mercy. "Strip him of his suit, his watch, and his phone. Dump him directly on the front steps of the Petrov cartel headquarters."
"No! Dante! Please! They'll torture me!" Marcus shrieked hysterically, thrashing wildly as four massive guards violently grabbed his arms and hauled him to his feet.
"You should have thought of that before you brought explosives into a room with children," Dante said.
The heavy mahogany service doors slammed shut, swallowing Marcus’s desperate, pathetic cries for mercy. He was being delivered straight to the rival cartel with absolutely nothing but his undershirt, a guaranteed, brutal death sentence for his treacherous greed.
The threat was completely, permanently neutralized.
Dante took a slow, heavy breath. He smoothed down his unbuttoned black shirt, erasing the violent executioner from his face, and turned back to his terrified guests.
