Chapter 8 - The Brutal Confession
"You killed my brother," Luca growled softly, his pitch-black eyes entirely devoid of human mercy.
"He was weak!" Daniel wept hysterically, blood dripping from his nose as he thrashed helplessly against the desk. "He was going to leave the syndicate for her! He was going to walk away from the empire! I had to get rid of him to protect our business! I did it for you, Luca!"
Elena sobbed in the corner, covering Mia’s eyes to shield her from the violence.
Luca didn't pull his own gun. A quick bullet in his private office was far too generous for the monster who had murdered his own blood and terrorized his niece.
He pulled his encrypted smartphone from his pocket.
"While you were busy threatening a mother and a child in my house," Luca stated coldly, pressing his forearm against Daniel’s throat to keep him pinned to the mahogany desk, "I had my cyber-team quietly tracing the massive offshore accounts you've been skimming from the syndicate."
