Chapter 4 - The Truth Unleashed

Valerie’s face turned the color of wet chalk. Her arrogant, high-society mask violently shattered into a feral, desperate panic.

"He... he's just confused!" Valerie stammered hysterically, taking a frantic step backward on the highly reflective marble. "His brain injury makes him act like a feral animal! He doesn't know what he's doing! Security, remove this lying woman right now!"

Two massive private guards stepped forward, but Dominic raised a single hand, instantly freezing them in their tracks. He didn't look at his panicking fiancée. He looked down at Emily.

"Miss Hayes," Dominic commanded quietly, completely bypassing the arrogance of his wealth. "Tell me exactly what you saw."

Emily stood up gracefully, her blonde updo holding perfectly. The white silk dress didn't look humiliating anymore; it looked like armor. The intimidated, bullied waitress completely vanished, replaced by a fierce, unbreakable protector.

"An hour ago, I was carrying champagne down the back hallway," Emily stated clearly, ensuring the silent, wealthy crowd heard every single word. "I saw her shove Noah’s wheelchair into the dark utility closet. I watched her dig her fingernails into his bruised arm. And I heard her tell him that if he ruined her wedding tonight, she would push him down the stairs again."

The elite guests gasped in unified, paralyzing horror.

Dominic stopped breathing. The blood in his veins turned to absolute ice.
