Chapter 3 - The Billionaire's Daughter

The warm afternoon lighting shifted into a deeper, golden hue as the tension in the spacious kitchen became absolutely suffocating.
Ethan rolled his eyes, turning his back on his wife to begin unpacking the expensive groceries into his exclusive new refrigerator. "Yes, Lauren. My money. My business. My house. You are just a guest here. A guest who failed her only biological duty."
Lauren watched him with an icy, calculating gaze.
When Lauren had met Ethan five years ago, she had intentionally hidden the true extent of her family's wealth. She wanted to be loved for who she was, not for the billions attached to her last name. Her father, Arthur, was one of the most ruthless, powerful corporate tycoons in the country. Her older brothers, Owen and Caleb, were brilliant, vicious corporate raiders who destroyed rival companies for sport.
Lauren had married Ethan believing he was a hardworking, ambitious man. She had played the role of a supportive, middle-class wife, keeping her trust fund completely untouched and entirely secret.
But over the years, Ethan’s true nature had slowly revealed itself. The arrogance. The control. The emotional manipulation. And now, the absolute, unforgivable cruelty toward his own infant daughters.
He thought he had her trapped. He thought she was a helpless, penniless housewife who would starve without his permission.
He had no idea that he had just declared war on a woman who could buy his entire life with a single signature.
"I won't be needing your food, Ethan," Lauren said, her voice eerily calm as she gently rocked the baby in her arms. "And I highly suggest you pack your bags. Because when my father gets here, you are going to wish you had never been born."
Beverly let out a shrill, obnoxious laugh. "Oh, please! Let your middle-class father come! We will have him arrested for trespassing on our property!"
