Chapter 9 - The Eviction

"You are not a father," Lauren whispered, her voice echoing with unstoppable, cinematic power. "You are a parasite. And your time in my house is officially over."

She turned her head, locking eyes with her two massive brothers.

"Get them out," Lauren commanded.

Owen and Caleb didn't hesitate for a fraction of a second. They stepped forward, grabbing Ethan and Beverly by the collars of their expensive clothes, violently hauling them up from the marble floor.

"No! Wait! Let me pack a bag!" Ethan screamed hysterically, thrashing against Owen's iron grip. "I have clothes upstairs! I need my laptop!"

"You leave with exactly what you are wearing!" Caleb roared, dragging a weeping Beverly toward the front doors. "Everything in this house belongs to my sister!"

"Lauren, have mercy!" Beverly shrieked like a banshee, her high heels scraping against the hardwood floors as she was pulled away. "We have nowhere to go! We don't have any money for a hotel!"

"Sleep in your car," Lauren called after them, her voice perfectly calm. "Or better yet, find a nice, empty refrigerator box."

The brothers dragged the thrashing, crying couple out through the grand foyer, physically tossing them out the front doors and onto the cold gravel driveway.

The heavy mahogany doors slammed shut with a deafening, final thud. The lock clicked into place, instantly sealing the toxicity and abuse out of the house forever.
