Chapter 10 - The Ultimate Eviction

"Grant Mercer," the police officer barked, violently grabbing his wrists. "You are under arrest for felony identity theft, financial fraud, and aiding in custodial interference."

The heavy steel handcuffs snapped loudly around Grant's wrists.

"Megan, please!" Grant wept wildly, completely abandoning his arrogant facade as he was shoved against the wall. "Tell them it was a misunderstanding! I'm your husband! I love you!"

"You're a trespasser," Megan replied smoothly, stepping out from the kitchen. "I filed for divorce on Friday. The house is a premarital asset in my name. Your bags are in the garage."

Kelsey shrieked hysterically as the second officer aggressively cuffed her hands behind her back, arresting her for child abandonment and fraud. Her dreams of a wealthy, child-free life in Denver were permanently incinerated.

David knelt on the living room rug, tears of pure joy streaming down his face as Ruby and Finn ran into his arms. He looked up at Megan, silently thanking her for delivering the absolute miracle he had prayed for.

The police dragged the screaming, humiliated siblings out the front door, shoving them into the back of the squad cars in front of the entire suburban neighborhood.

Megan closed the heavy front door, locking the toxic monsters out forever. She walked into the dining room, picked up her sweet, innocent son Toby, and hugged him tightly.

The dark shadows of manipulation and betrayal were permanently banished from her home, replaced by an empire built on absolute power, undeniable courage, and perfect justice.

If you were Megan, would you have warned Grant about the bank fraud alert, or was letting him get arrested in his own foyer the absolute perfect revenge?
