Chapter 1 - The Morning Slap

The bright, early morning sunlight streamed beautifully through the massive, lake-facing windows of the luxurious American kitchen. Crystal chandeliers cast a warm glow over the pristine white marble counters and the extravagant breakfast spread.
But the picturesque elegance of the lakeside estate was violently shattered by a sharp, echoing slap.
Ms. Sterling, a beautiful woman in her late twenties wearing an elegant ivory satin spaghetti-strap dress, fell heavily to the polished white marble floor. Her long, dark brown hair fell loosely around her face. A tipped cream mug lay inches away, dark brown coffee spilling rapidly across the pristine white stone, staining the hem of her satin dress.
Standing directly over her was her husband, Arthur Vance.
Arthur, a man in his early thirties with swept-back brown hair, wore a tailored navy suit, a crisp white shirt, and a dark tie. The heavy gold wedding ring on his hand caught the sunlight as he slowly lowered his arm. His face was a mask of cold, terrifying anger. He was a man entirely accustomed to absolute obedience.
"Learn your place," Arthur stated, his voice a freezing, lethal command.
Ms. Sterling didn't scream. She didn't burst into hysterical tears.

She sat on the marble floor beside the spilled coffee, one hand gently pressing against her cheek, which was now blooming with a mild, painful redness.
👉 Arthur thought he had just successfully disciplined his submissive wife, completely unaware that he had just signed his own financial death warrant.
