Chapter 1 - The Airfield Betrayal

The private American airfield was bathed in bright, blinding daylight. A sleek, multi-million-dollar private jet sat idling on the sun-baked tarmac, its engines humming a low, powerful, and incredibly expensive rhythm. A luxury black town car was parked just a few feet away from the heavy metallic boarding stairs.
It was the perfect, cinematic escape for a billionaire.
Ethan, a fiercely handsome corporate executive in his thirties, stood proudly by the black car. He wore a sharp, tailored dark suit, his white shirt casually unbuttoned at the collar to beat the summer heat. He wasn't traveling for business. He was completely, ruthlessly abandoning his marriage.
Standing right in front of him, locked in a deeply intimate embrace, was Madison. She was a stunning woman in her thirties with long blonde wavy hair. She was blatantly disrespecting the morning flight by wearing a plunging red silk evening gown with a thigh-high slit, looking like she was heading to a red-carpet gala rather than an airport.
Ethan smiled, leaning in close, his hands wrapped tightly around Madison's waist. He had spent the last six months secretly draining his joint accounts, forging his wife's signature on a massive corporate loan, and he was now moments away from fleeing to a non-extradition country with his mistress.
"We did it," Ethan whispered smoothly, kissing her neck as the jet engines roared. "We are completely free of her."
But suddenly, the heavy, metallic clanking of footsteps echoed from the top of the private jet’s boarding stairs.
Ethan pulled away from Madison. A tight, cinematic close-up captured his face. He looked up toward the cabin door, and his arrogant, victorious smile vanished instantly. All the color violently drained from his face as pure, unadulterated shock registered in his dark eyes.
Walking powerfully down the stairs of the idling jet was Claire.
