Chapter 6 - The Digital Bomb

The string quartet completely stopped playing. The entire audience of wealthy guests fell dead silent, entirely confused by the sudden interruption.
Mark frowned, his handsome face twitching nervously. "Clara? What are you doing? This isn't in the script."
"I wrote a new script," Clara replied coldly, completely bypassing him.
Clara pressed her thumb against the hidden screen of her phone inside the bouquet. She hit Send on the drafted email.
Then, she pressed another button.
She didn't just email the recording. She had hacked the venue's massive Bluetooth surround-sound system, completely bypassing the wedding DJ's controls.
Suddenly, Beatrice’s cruel, arrogant voice violently exploded through the massive outdoor speakers for every single guest to hear.
"She thinks it was just standard prenuptial paperwork... She has absolutely no idea she just authorized us to purchase a three-million-dollar luxury condo using her social security number..."
The guests gasped in unified, paralyzing horror.
"When the bank forecloses in six months, Clara takes the total financial hit. We walk away completely clean, and Mark divorces her."
The recording clicked off.
The silence that followed was absolute, terrifying, and dripping with imminent, inescapable justice.
Mark stumbled backward, his face turning the color of wet chalk. He looked like he had just been struck by lightning.
Beatrice violently leaped up from her seat in the front row, her dark lace gown catching on her chair. Her flawless, high-society facade entirely shattered into a million pieces.

"Turn that off!" Beatrice shrieked like a feral banshee, pointing a shaking, manicured finger at Clara. "She faked that audio! She is trying to extort us!"
