Chapter 7 - The Police Arrival

The cinematic tension in the courtyard spiked to a suffocating, paralyzing level.

Four uniformed police officers and two paramedics sprinted across the pristine white marble patio. The paramedics instantly rushed to Sloane, gently stabilizing her neck and preparing a rigid spine board, finally providing the terrified woman with the medical care her own parents had ruthlessly denied her.

"Excuse me, officers!" Garrison barked loudly, stepping forward and puffing out his chest, trying to project his fake, high-society authority. "There is absolutely no need for a police presence! My clumsy daughter simply slipped on the balcony. We are handling it privately."

"Step back, sir," the lead officer commanded coldly, completely unimpressed by Garrison's expensive tuxedo.

"This is a private estate!" Una shrieked wildly, her elegant persona completely shattering as the wealthy wedding guests began to pour out onto the patio to watch the massive scandal unfold. "You are trespassing on our property! I demand you leave before I call the mayor!"

Sloane lay on the spine board, the paramedics carefully securing the straps over her ruined cream-colored silk gown. Despite the agonizing pain, a cold, titanium smile touched her lips.

"It isn't your property, Mother," Sloane stated. Her voice was weak, but the microphone on the lead officer’s body camera picked it up perfectly. "It's mine."

Una and Garrison completely froze, their faces draining of all color. They had spent years hiding that fact from their elite friends, pretending they were the wealthy owners.

"And I didn't slip," Sloane continued ruthlessly, locking her dark eyes onto the police officer. "My sister pushed me. And the entire incident was recorded on my security cameras."

👉 The police officer pulled out a tablet, preparing to watch the footage that would send the bride to a concrete cell.
