Chapter 10 - The Cleanup

"You have absolutely no right to do this to me!" Claire wailed hysterically, dropping to her knees on the marble floor, completely shattering her glamorous facade. "I am your sister! I am family!"
"You threw a plate of food at my feet and told me I was only invited because I pay the bills," I replied, looking down at her with absolute, freezing contempt. "So now, the bills are cut off. And your invitation is permanently revoked."
I turned to the estate's private security team, who were standing quietly by the doors. They had always known I was the true owner, and they had hated how Claire treated them.
"Escort them out," I ordered calmly.
My parents didn't argue. Completely humiliated, financially ruined, and stripped of their fake high-society status, my father grabbed my weeping mother's arm and practically dragged her toward the exit, refusing to even look me in the eye.
The security guards grabbed Claire by the arms, hauling her up from the floor. She screamed and thrashed in her custom silver gown, weeping hysterically as they dragged her backward through the ballroom she used to rule, tossing her out the heavy oak doors into the cold night air.
The threat was neutralized. The toxic parasites were banished.

I looked around the beautiful, restored country estate my grandmother had trusted me to protect. The investors were still staring at me, realizing they were looking at the true, brilliant mastermind behind the Meadowgate empire. I finally took my rightful place at the head of the table.
If you were in my shoes, would you have warned your sister before letting the bank humiliate her, or did she deserve to lose everything in front of the entire party?
