Chapter 1 - The Lobby Humiliation

The Seawind Bluff Resort in Maui was a breathtaking fortress of tropical luxury. Brilliant turquoise ocean waves crashed in the distance, visible through the magnificent open-air lobby. Golden chandeliers hung from high ceilings, illuminating polished white marble reception counters and lush, exotic flower arrangements.
It was the kind of five-star paradise reserved for billionaires and A-list celebrities.
But at the front desk, the elegant atmosphere was currently being shattered by a woman who thought her wealth gave her the right to destroy people.
Trevor, a woman in her early sixties, aggressively slammed her hand on the marble counter. She had voluminous golden-blonde hair, glamorous makeup, and wore a flowing coral-pink embroidered resort outfit. Layered gold necklaces and expensive bracelets clanked loudly as she pointed a manicured finger directly at the older woman standing behind the desk.
Standing beside Trevor were eleven massive, expensive cream, navy-blue, and rose-gold hard-shell suitcases.
"I don't care if the bellhops are busy!" Trevor shrieked, her voice echoing off the cream-colored columns.
Behind the desk stood Evelyn. She was a beautiful, dignified woman in her late sixties with shoulder-length silver-blonde hair. She wore a tailored deep teal blazer over a crisp white blouse and small pearl earrings. She wasn't a standard receptionist; she was temporarily assisting the overwhelmed front desk during the busy check-in rush.
Evelyn maintained a perfectly composed, quiet expression, holding the room key cards in her hand.
Trevor leaned across the marble counter, her face twisting into a mask of pure, ugly contempt. She gestured dismissively toward the mountain of heavy luggage.
