Chapter 14 - Meredith Lost the Role She Thought Belonged to Her
Meredith was removed from the Whitcomb home immediately.
Her contact with Elara ended pending the legal process.
The guardianship plan collapsed.
Not because Caleb was wealthy.
Not because the family closed ranks.
Because Meredith’s own recordings, emails, and actions showed she had manufactured danger to create a custody argument.
The court rejected any suggestion that she should hold a protective role in Elara’s life.
Hannah’s parents were devastated.
They loved both daughters.
They also loved Elara.
For a while, they struggled to accept what Meredith had done.

“Loving Meredith does not require pretending Elara was safe with her.”
