Vanessa’s attorney initially argued that she had not intended to throw Noah over the railing.
Perhaps she lost balance while pulling him away from Emma.
Perhaps the video angle exaggerated the motion.
Perhaps her shouted statement was emotional language disconnected from physical intent.
The recording made those arguments difficult.
Her own messages made them worse.
Prosecutors found no evidence of a long-term plan to kill Noah.
That mattered.
They did find evidence that Vanessa had fantasized about breaking Daniel’s family apart and viewed Noah as the bond making that difficult.
Her final act occurred during an escalating confrontation after Emma told Vanessa she was no longer welcome at the estate.
That context helped explain the explosion.
It did not excuse it.

No fantasy.
Daniel accepted that.
Emma did too.
