Chapter 7 - Vanessa Had Been Creating A Marriage Crisis On Purpose
Police obtained Vanessa’s phone under proper legal process after the evidence justified deeper investigation.
What they found expanded the story beyond obsession.
Vanessa had been actively trying to separate Daniel and Emma for at least five months.
She created anonymous messages implying Daniel was having an affair.
Then deleted some before Emma could trace them.
She sent herself romantic-looking messages from an unregistered number and deliberately left her phone visible during family dinners.
She took photographs of Daniel from angles that made ordinary interactions look intimate.
She even booked a hotel room in Daniel’s name during one of his business trips, then arranged for the confirmation to appear in a shared family email folder.
Daniel had never stayed there.
The goal was not sophisticated cybercrime.
It was emotional corrosion.
Make Emma suspicious.
Make Daniel defensive.
Make every normal inconvenience look like evidence.
Then wait for the marriage to damage itself.
Vanessa’s messages to a close friend were more revealing.
I don’t need him to choose me yet. I just need them to stop trusting each other.

But as long as Noah existed as the center of Daniel’s life with Emma, Vanessa could never fully imagine herself replacing that family.

Evidence did not support that level of preparation.
It was an explosive act during a confrontation, driven by obsession and rage.
