Chapter 14 - Sienna Asked Mara For Forgiveness Once

Sienna contacted Mara almost a year after Luca’s birth.
Through attorneys first.
Then with permission, a letter.
Mara nearly threw it away.
Instead she read it.
Sienna did not ask to be excused.
That helped.
She admitted the affair.
The donor secret.
The fake email knowledge.
The attempt to take the fertility folder.
The humiliation on the driveway.
She wrote:
I spent so long telling myself Adrian was the person manipulating everyone that I stopped acknowledging how many choices I made after I knew the truth.
Then:
I hated you because looking at you reminded me what I had agreed to hide.
And finally:
Luca’s biological connection to my family gives me no right to him. I understand that.
Mara stopped there.
That sentence mattered.
Sienna was Luca’s biological aunt.
But biology did not give her a relationship.
Not automatically.
Not after deception.
Mara never wrote back.
She did not owe Sienna closure.
Years later, she would reconsider whether Luca deserved accurate information about his genetic relatives.
That would be Luca’s future question.
May you like
Not Sienna’s present entitlement.
