Rosalie began telling me what happened after every incident in their marriage.
Not what happened during.
After.
Callum always became calm first.
That was his advantage.
Rosalie would still be crying.
He would lower his voice.
Then reconstruct events.
“You screamed.”
“You tried to leave.”
“You pushed me emotionally.”
“You know abandonment is my trigger.”
“You know what you’re doing when you act cold.”
By the end of the conversation, Rosalie was often apologizing too.
Sometimes first.
That was how Callum survived his own behavior.
Not by denying every action.
By rearranging responsibility afterward.
Christmas was different.
Too many people saw the original sequence.
The cloud recording preserved it before Callum could narrate it.
He could not edit the order.
That was what “you were wrong from the very beginning” really meant.
He thought control depended on destroying one camera.
His actual control had always depended on controlling the explanation.
