Chapter 6 - The Basement Interrogation

Gia’s heart hammered violently against her ribs. She was pinned to the blue mat by Dante's heavy boot, staring in absolute terror at the gun he had just pulled from her bag.

"I've never seen that before!" Gia cried out, struggling against the guard. "He planted it!"

Mateo stared at the suppressed pistol. In his violent, paranoid world, an unauthorized weapon was an immediate death sentence. The cold, ruthless syndicate boss returned to his eyes. He looked down at the coach who had just offered to save his life.

"Take her to the basement," Mateo ordered coldly, turning his back on her.

"No! Mateo, listen to me!" Gia screamed as Dante dragged her roughly off the mat by her arms, hauling her toward the dark, concrete stairs leading below the warehouse.

Isabella stood at the top of the VIP office stairs, a smug, victorious smile plastered across her face as she watched the girl who threatened her empire get dragged to her execution.

The basement was cold, damp, and smelled of rust. Dante threw Gia against a concrete pillar, raising his weapon with a cruel sneer.

"You should have just wiped the heavy bags, sweetheart," Dante mocked, clicking the safety off his pistol. "Now you disappear."

Gia squeezed her eyes shut, bracing for the gunshot.

"Put the gun down, Dante."

The deep, booming voice echoed through the dark basement. Dante froze.
